What do you need to work with the “EW-12"?

  • Control panel: “Nord GSM” of any hardware version or “Nord GSM Mini”.
  • The firmware of the deviceis not lower than version 16.11.
  • ‘Hubble’ Configurator.
  • In the settings of the device on the “Miscellaneous” tab, enable the permanent polling of the 1-Wireinterface.

How to connect?

Nord GSM.

The expander is connected to the Nord GSM device to the Reader terminal group, which is located on the left edge of the instrument's terminal strip: the expander “1WR” terminal is connected to the device “DATA” terminal, and the expander “1WR GND” terminal is connected to the“GND” terminal device.

«Nord GSM Mini»

To the device, the Nord GSM Mini is connected to the GND and 1WR terminals: the expander 1WR terminal is connected to the device 1WR terminal, and the extender 1WR terminal is connected to the device GND terminal.

Extender power

The extender terminals labeled “GND PWR” and“+ 12V” are used to connect the power to the extender.

Feed may be provided in several ways:

  • From the device itself, it must be taken in to account that the maximum load is 200 mA.
  • From uninterrupted power supply.

Connection

Terminals “Z1” - “Z12” are designed for connecting the signal cable of loops.

Terminals "GND" - to connect the “negative" cable of the loop power supply and the second signal cable of the loops.

The “SNS PWR” terminals are designed for connecting the “positive” cable of the loops power supply.

Up to two resistors can be connected to each of the loops. Resistor ratings and wiring diagrams are described in this article.

Each of the terminals “Z1” - “Z12” can be a loop or an open collector, this is indicated when configuring the controlpanel:

  • If the loop is off in the configurator, then it can be used as an open collector.
  • If the loop is enabled in the configurator, then it cannot be used as a collector.

What does the indication show?

The extender has one LED as an indicator. The display only works if the extender tamper is open:

  • The LED is on when there ispower, but there is no connection to the control panel.
  • The LED flashes when there is a connection to the control panel.

How tomake sure the extender is connected correctly?

If the extender is connected correctly, the LED on it should flash, the loops will appear in the configurator automatically in the “Zones” tab.

How many loops will “EW-12" add?

Using the extender, you can increase the number of loops to 16:

  • When connected to the device "Nord GSM" - 8 additional loops.
  • When connected to the device “Nord GSM Mini” - 12 additional loops.

What numbers will be at the loops connected via the “EW-12"?

  • For the Nord GSM device, the expander loops correspond to numbers 9-16:
the “Z1” terminal on the expander corresponds to the loop No. 9, the “Z2” terminal- to the loop No. 10, (...), the “ZN” terminal corresponds to the loop (N + 8).
  • For the device “Nord GSM Mini” the extender cables correspond to the numbers 5-16:
I.e. terminal "Z1" to loop No. 5, terminal "Z2" to loop No.6, terminal "ZN" corresponds to the loop (N + 4).

Can I change zone settings remotely?

Yes, you can change the settings of the extender zones through the Engineer Panel. However, the initial configuration of the extender must be done via USB.

How will the open collectors be named?

Open collector numbers correspond to the terminal marking on the expander board.

Work with other extenders

“EW-12" can be connected together with the “EW-2", while connection diagram “EW-2" to the surf "Nord GSM" does not change.
“EW-2" can not be connected to the terminals “EW-12". Only four-wire fire detectors can be connected to the “EW-12” terminals.
“EW-12" can not be connected in conjunction with the “EW-8".
